At 54, Rue Landau will be taking public office for the first time in January. The longtime housing attorney and tenants’ rights advocate will become the only Jewish member of Philadelphia’s new City Council.

In a conversation on The Jewish Exponent Podcast, she discussed that responsibility during a time of rising antisemitism. She also talked about becoming the first openly LGBTQ member of council in city history.
