Nancy Tavel Balbus (Ralph)

Peacefully passed away at the age of 92 on April 4, 2024. Born in Toledo, Ohio on July 11, 1931. Nancy lived a fulfilling life that touched the hearts of countless people.

She was the wife of the late Marvin Tavel as well as the late Ted Balbus. Daughter of the late Tilly and Oscar Ralph. Survived by her adored and adoring family. Daughters Connie Tavel, Joanie Reznik (Maurice), and Judy/Dede Epstein (Sam). Proud grandmother of Aaron and Emily Epstein, Max (Clare), Ricky, and Sammy (Madeleine) Reznik and so many dear friends.

Nancy graduated from Ottawa Hills High School and Cornell University.

Through Nancy Tavel Kitchens and Baths, she turned her fabulous style and love of food into a successful design business. Retiring at 85 years old.

A member of Rodelph Shalom, past president of UJA women’s group, member of Philmont Country Club, Cornell University Alumni interviewer, and consummate volunteer.

Nancy’s sunny personality was filled with intelligence, grace, warmth, and humor. Her Midwest values left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Nancy was well loved and will be missed

On April 28, 2024, the family will receive visitors from 2-4:00 pm  in Westport, Connecticut
