Federation's Mitzvah Projects Task Force oversees social action activities that help Federation's Center for Social Responsibility to create a more caring community. Following are just some of the successes made possible through the task force this year:
• 60 - number of frail seniors helped with a variety of household projects during three Neighborhood Mitzvah Day programs;
• 1,500 - number of cell phones collected for victims of domestic violence and the frail elderly;
• 33 - number of reading coaches who read with 21 first-grade students from Meade Elementary School; and
• 100 - number of volunteers who assisted at Mitzvah Food Pantry sites, stocking shelves, preparing food packages and making deliveries.
