Shirley Ruth Gottlieb (nee Schwartz), known affectionately as “Bubbles” to all who knew and loved her, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2022. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she attended Girls’ High and went on to business school. She met her future husband Herb on a blind date after the War, leading to a beautiful 52-year marriage. Shirley and Herb first lived in NYC before moving to the Overbrook Park section of Philadelphia, where she met and made life-long friends, eventually settling down in Havertown, PA. She and Herb traveled extensively but were never too busy for a good game of bridge or mah-jong. Along with her numerous friends, she co-founded a charitable organization known as Charities Anonymous, which gave away thousands of dollars to noteworthy charities around the country. In her later years, she became a TikTok sensation, making over 20 viral videos for a cosmetics brand. She was a great mom, and terrific grandmother. We will all miss her so much. Shirley is predeceased by her beloved husband, Herb, and her adoring grandchild, Fred. She is survived by her two children Lee (Ely), and Arlene (Robert), and her grandchildren Jillian, Benjamin, Aaron and Josh (Jennifer). In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Jewish Family Services of Atlantic and Cape May Counties, 607 N.
