Kurtzer Addresses Prime Ministers Council

0

On Oct. 3, the Prime Ministers Council gathered for a special reception at the home of Jewish Federation Board Chair Susanna Lachs Adler and Jewish Federation Campaign Chair Dean Adler.  The Prime Ministers Council is a singular group of people representing our long history of leadership and Jewish continuity since 1901, and its mission is to ensure the Jewish future for the next generation.

This year’s special guest was Yehuda Kurtzer, the president of the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America and a leading thinker and writer on the meaning of Israel to American Jews, the value of the Jewish past to the Jewish present, and questions of leadership and change in American Jewish life. He is the author of Shuva: The Future of the Jewish Past, which offers new thinking to contemporary Jews on navigating the tensions between history and memory, and on relating meaningfully to our past while still moving toward the future.
