The Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League will host its first Jewish Heritage Celebration night, Yalla Soul.
Following the lead of the Sixers and Phillies, the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League will host its first Jewish Heritage Celebration night, Yalla Soul, when it plays the New Orleans VooDoo, Sunday, Aug. 2 at 4 p.m. The event is being sponsored by the Jewish Exponent and Six Points Kosher Events on Rothman Field at the Wells Fargo Center
Highlights of the event include a mass sing-along “Hatikvah” and a postgame concert by Six13, a Jewish a capella group. Glatt kosher food, provided by Six Points, will be on sale. Every ticket package will include a commemorative T-shirt.
“We look forward to hosting Yalla Soul for the entire Philadelphia and South Jersey community,’’ said David Beck, Soul vice president of sales. “The Soul organization is committed to creating new programs.”
For Six13, the gathering is an opportunity to perform in front of one of their most supportive fanbases. “It’s really an honor to be part of the Soul’s very first Jewish Heritage Night,” said Michael Boxer, a member of Six13, which takes its name from the number of mitzvoth in the Torah. “The crowds in Philadelphia are great, and we can’t wait to take the stage and share our music with everyone.”
Tickets start at $18 and can purchased by calling 215-253-4900 x201 or by going to philadelphiasoul.com/yalla.
