Beth Wenger, Moritz and Josephine Berg Professor of History and History Department Chair in the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania, will discuss “American Jewish Men and the Anxieties of Breadwinning, 1850-1940.” There will be a Q&A after the talk.

Koresh Dance Company’s Artistic Director Roni Koresh will present a world premiere of a new dance production inspired by Matisse’s famous painting “La Danse.” This production combines tender, joyful, passionate and humorous interpretation of Matisse’s three permutations of the painting starting with “Le bonheur de vivre” followed by the two versions of “La Danse.” The work will be danced to an original musical composition by John Levis and poetry by Karl Mullen.
