On Sun., Jan. 29, the Kehillah of Old York Road invites you to an evening of Jewish music from Mexico and South America. Enjoy infectious rhythms, soaring melodies and the sounds of castanets and maracas. The concert will feature international star Hazzan Gaston Bogomolni, along with the hazzanim and combined adult choirs of the Old York Road synagogues under the musical direction of Hazzan David F. Tilman. The concert begins at 4 p.m. at Beth Sholom Congregation, 8231 Old York Road in Elkins Park. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door, and are available for purchase at Kehillah of Old York Road synagogues. ‘Talk About It’ With the Kehillah of Chester County
The Kehillah of Chester County, in partnership with the Chester County Library, is hosting a reading and discussion series that includes a wide range of Jewish literature relating to the theme “Modern Marvels of the Jewish Imagination.” Free to the public (including high school students!) one Monday a month through May, each event is held from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. at the Chester County Library — District Center, 450 Exton Square Parkway in Exton. The next reading is Feb. 6 and will feature “From Krakow to Krypton: Jews and Comic Books” by Arie Kaplan and JT Waldman.
