Second-grade students at Perelman Jewish Day School created a plan with their teacher to make recess more inclusive and enjoyable. They decided to build a buddy bench where, if a child is sitting on it alone, it is a signal to the other kids to ask them to play. The students raised money with a hot chocolate stand, created signs and a script and presented a plan to the school principal for approval.
