Community members are recognized for philanthropic work.

Bruce Marks, CPA, MST, shareholder and name partner in the accounting firm of Shechtman Marks Devor PC, has been elected as treasurer of the Associated Alumni of Central High School of Philadelphia. He also serves as assistant treasurer for the Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Greater Philadelphia. He provides accounting, tax and organizational expertise to clients ranging from start-up companies to national corporations. Marks also prepares special agreed-upon procedure reports for lending and financial institutions that are relied upon to determine the creditworthiness of prospective and existing borrowers.

Some 350 invited guests came out to share in the 40th anniversary of KleinLife in Northeast Philadelphia. The celebration included a special video presentation, music and a full reception. The celebration and benefit evening marked 40 years of providing a myriad of social, educational, recreational, health and wellness and cultural enrichment services to thousands of area children, adults and seniors.


Dr. Walter Hofman was recently the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award for the Montgomery County Democratic Committee. A forensic pathologist, he is the director of Montgomery Pathology Associates, consulting in criminal cases to attorneys nationwide.
