Einstein Healthcare Network new board appointments, Dr. Robert Rosenthal, Cary L. Flitter, Mathieu J. Shapiro and Barbara Seiden.

Einstein Healthcare Network has announced new board appointments for fiscal year 2016. Among the notable appointees are Lawrence S. Reichlen, Mina Fader, Richard Allman, M.D. and David Jaspan, D.O. Bruce Koch will finish his term as chairman of the Einstein Healthcare Services Board of Trustees and Lewis I. Gantman will complete his final year as chairman of the Board of Trustees of Einstein Medical Center Montgomery. Also appointed to the Board of Overseers were Jay Goldstein, Esq., Bobbi Wasserman and Judith Trichon.
 
Dr. Robert Rosenthal met with Sens. Pat Toomey and Bob Casey as well as Rep. Brendan Boyle in Washington, D.C. to promote effective school safety efforts, school mental health services and evidence-based practices on behalf of students and families of Upper Dublin and the state of Pennsylvania. Rosenthal, advocacy chair on the board of directors for the Association of School Psychologists of Pennsylvania, met with local representatives to advocate for legislation in Pennsylvania that ensures evidence-based practices in all public schools.
 
Cary L. Flitter of Flitter Lorenz, P.C., Montgomery County, was recently recognized as Consumer Advocate of the Year by the National Association of Consumer Advocates, a Washington, D.C.-based organization committed to promoting justice and the protection of consumers’ rights,  particularly those of modest means. This honor, bestowed annually, recognized Flitter for his knowledge and experience in consumer credit matters and representation of people, as individuals and in class actions, that are victimized by banks, lenders, debt collectors and credit reporting agencies.
 
Mathieu J. Shapiro was elected Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP’s new managing partner to take over in 2016, succeeding current managing partner Robert I. Whitelaw. Shapiro has been at Obermayer 20 years in September, and currently serves as chair of the firm’s E-Discovery Practice Group and as a member of its recruiting committee. Though Whitelaw will pass the baton, he will remain on the firm’s Management Committee and will continue to practice family law.
 
Barbara Seiden, Certified Water Safety Instructor and award-winning Bucks County swim coach, has launched “KickSmart Swimming.” KickSmart provides personalized private and semi-private swim lessons for students of all ages and abilities. Seiden is also the aquatics director at Fanny Chapman Pools in Doylestown. KickSmart Swimming focuses on play as an instruction technique. According to KickSmart’s experienced swim instructors, including Seiden and instructor Tara Gormley, this teaching method makes lessons more personalized and easier-to-understand than the traditional drills taught at other swim programs.
