Fresh ingredients, which were harvested from a hoop house at KleinLife in Northeast Philadelphia, were used by a volunteer cooking group to help prepare meals for the center’s Home Delivered Meals program. The event capped March for Meals month, which calls attention to the issues of senior hunger and the valuable role volunteers can help play in addressing them. RSVP Philadelphia, in coordination with KleinLife, provides 70,000 home delivered meals annually to seniors in Philadelphia, Bucks and Montgomery counties who cannot shop or cook for themselves.
