Opening ceremonies are held for the Albert Greenfield Lawn at Dilworth Park.
Lawn care led to the official opening of the Albert Greenfield Lawn at Dilworth Park as part of the beautification of the site outside City Hall. At the ceremony (from left) are Edward M. D’Alba, president of the Central Philadelphia Development Corporation; Alan Greenberger, deputy mayor for economic development and director of commerce as well as current chair of the City Planning Commission; former Gov. Edward G. Rendell, who was instrumental during his terms as state chief executive in getting the Dilworth Park enhancements started; Paul R. Levy, president and CEO of the Center City District; and Albert M. Greenfield III, grandson of the lawn’s late namesake, who was a major real estate and development entrepreneur.
