Happy New Year from the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia!

2017 was a fantastic year full of wonderful volunteer opportunities, celebratory events and meaningful travel opportunities to Israel. Wishing the entire Greater Philadelphia community a very happy start to 2018.

Super Sunday: In February, students from Drexel Hillel worked the phones to raise vital funds for Jewish Federation programs.

Men’s Mission: In March, from left, Ben Weinraub, Steve Margulies, Sam Menaged and Mark Goldstein joined 14 other men for an up-close look at work orchestrated by the Jewish Federation in Israel.


JFRE Legends and Leaders: In May, 600 participants gathered to network and learn from local real estate leaders. Pictured from left are Casey Pollack, Jason Guss, Adam Dembo and Sam Kotler.

Israel360: In July, 27 Jewish leaders ages 25 to 40 from Philadelphia traveled to Israel as part of the Israel360 VIP Mission.

Shore Shabbat: In August, Jewish Federation leaders gathered at one of many summer cocktail parties to discuss Jewish Federation programs and goals.  Pictured: Guests mingling on Long Beach Island.  

Mitzvah Food Sort: In October, members of the Jewish Federation’s Women’s Philanthropy group came together to sort 50,000 pounds of food collected during the Mitzvah Food Project’s High Holiday Food Drive. Pictured from left are event co-chairs Sherrie Spiegel and Amy Cohen.

NextGen Rebuild: In September, more than 100 members of the Jewish Federation’s NextGen group partnered with Habitat for Humanity to improve the homes of eight older adults in the Northeast.

Main Event: In November, more than 1,000 people descended on the Kimmel Center to pay tribute to the Jewish Federation’s Immediate Past Board Chairman Bud Newman.  Pictured are guests Ilan Sussan, Stu Goodman, Deborah Gordon Klehr, Danielle Weiss and Mitch Sterling.
