Piano Concert: Lou Walinsky

Pianist Lou Walinsky will perform a free concert open to the public. Walinsky, pianist/arranger/improviser, performs original piano arrangements of great American songbook standards including songs by Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, George & Ira Gershwin, Rodgers & Hammerstein and more.
Walinsky has been a freelance musician for over 40 years, performing as a soloist and in jazz, party and klezmer bands, including his own jazz ensemble. Walinsky has given solo performances throughout his career including the Delaware Art Museum (Wilmington, DE), the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (Wash., D.C.), the Philadelphia Art Alliance, The Free Library of Philadelphia, the Sedgwick Cultural Center (Philadelphia) and Cafe Improv at the Princeton Arts Council (Princeton, NJ). Other musical experiences of his include accompanying classical, jazz, and pop singers, collaborating with dancers, poets, and an improvisational theater group, and composing and performing his own songs.
Walinsky receives state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
