This four-week course will immerse people in the family, life, times, works and thought of Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon. Lecturer Rabbi Shai Cherry will discuss the poetry-infused life of Andalusia and the medical clinic Maimon ran outside of Cairo. His commentary, code, philosophy and letters will be discussed along with his son’s attraction to Sufi mysticism, both predictable and an uncanny precursor to post-Enlightenment Judaism.
