[email protected] Webinar: Nashirah, the Jewish Chorale of Greater Philadelphia

April 18 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Learn about the history of the only auditioned Jewish choral group in Philadelphia. President Cynthia Silber, board member Arthur Feldman and other choir members will share and discuss several pieces of music. We’ll also meet the conductor and artistic director of the choir: Julia Zavadsky, professor of music at Temple University and the Curtis Institute of Music. She will describe the process of conducting, teach us how to watch the conductor and how to be an informed listener. Feel free to ask plenty of questions!

Julia Zavadsky studied music theory, conducting, and composition at Glier Music College in Kiev, Ukraine and Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem, where she studied with Maestro Aaron Harlap. She studied choral conducting at Temple University where she worked with Alan Harler and Janet Yamron and received the Elaine Brown Tribute Award.
