First Thursdays at M’kor Shalom – Sacred Cinema: Inside Out
May 5 @ 7:00 pm
Free
Discuss led by Rabbi Richard Address
We will conclude our Sacred Cinema series this year with a different film, Disney/Pixar’s “Inside Out.” The film looks at the role of emotions in our lives. We see Anger, Joy, Sadness, Fear and Disgust all play themselves out. You can view the film on streaming services and, while you are watching, here are some questions to consider:
1. As we get older, how do we learn to “manage” our emotions?
2. What is the danger of suppressing our emotions? Are there cultural differences?
3. Do we give ourselves permission to express all of these emotions?
4. Given the stresses of these last 2+ years, how relevant is this film now?
5. What was your takeaway from the film?
There is no cost to attend this program, which is open to the community.
