Branching Out: A Celebration of Trees

January 5 - January 30

Free

The Old City Jewish Arts Center will host Branching Out: A Celebration of Trees, by award-winning artist Diana T. Myers of Elkins Park. The multi-media and multi-dimensional exhibit opens Jan. 5. It features nature art, or art made with natural materials, including hanging and standing sculptures, reliefs, assemblages, collages and prints.

The exhibit commemorates the Jewish holiday of Tu B’Shevat and honors the four seasons. Also on display is SOS: 2020, a series Myers developed in response to the pandemic, racial strife and other unprecedented events of 2020.

The Old City Jewish Arts Center is located at 119 N. 3rd St., Philadelphia. Special events include: First Friday, Jan. 7 from 7-9 p.m. and the Artist’s Reception, Jan. 16 from 2-4 p.m. with a snow date of Jan. 23. Private showings can also be arranged by contacting Myers at [email protected]
