A Tale of Love and Darkness (film)

October 13 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Free

At 1 p.m., we will be showing an Israeli film in partnership with the Israel Committee of KI, in the library.

This will be an in-person event at the library. For this occasion, I have chosen to follow a theme: Amos Oz. We will branch out to other subjects and themes as the year goes on. The story is of Oz’s youth, set against the backdrop of the end of the British Mandate for Palestine and the early years of the State of Israel. The film details the young man’s relationship with his mother and his beginnings as a writer, while looking at what happens when the stories we tell become the stories we live. Hebrew with English subtitles.

Director: Natalie Portman; writers: Natalie Portman; screenplay by Oz (based on his book). Stars: Natalie Portman, Gilad Kahana, Amir Tessler, Shira Haas. Please register your attendance for this program here: forms.gle/gqAeKU7JcjiPCtT36
