An eminent Philadelphia lawyer is named to a top post with the Shoah Foundation.
Stephen A. Cozen, founder and chairman of the Philly based, international law firm of Cozen O’Connor, has been appointed chair of the Board of Councilors of the USC Shoah Foundation — The Institute for Visual History and Education.
The board is responsible for the dissemination and implementation of the 53,000 testimonies in the institute’s Visual History Archive.
Cozen, a Philadelphia Jewish communal leader, has long been active with the Shoah organization, whose founder was filmmaker Steven Spielberg. He is also co-chair of the institute’s capital campaign, which is more than halfway to its $184 million goal.
USC Shoah Foundation executive director Stephen Smith praised Cozen, saying his “maintaining a robust commitment to our mission has been invaluable.”
The USC Shoah Foundation recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.
