Adele Wilder Mande died October 27, 2017 in Lower Gwynedd, Pennsylvania. She was born October 19, 1922 in Philadelphia to Joseph and Anna Wilder and grew up in North Philadelphia. She attended West Chester Teacher’s College and the University of Miami and became a beloved teacher in the Philadelphia Schools. She taught at Spruance School and Greenfield School over a forty-year career. In 1946, she married attorney Eugene F. Mande, and had one son, Louis Mande. Over their forty-year marriage they lived in Center City Philadelphia and Elkins Park. After his death, she moved to New Mexico to be closer to her son and grandchildren. Then in 1994, she settled in Boca Raton, Florida near her two sisters. She kept herself busy with classes, volunteer work and her many friends. She married Ed Eaton in 2004. Adele and Ed traveled the world together. In 2013, Adele returned to the Philadelphia area. Adele enjoyed travel, fashion, art, music, parties and her family. She is survived by her son Louis Mande and his wife Deborah Mande of Elkins Park; her grandchildren Joe Mande (Kylie Augustine) and Rachel Rozsa (Erik Rozsa); her sisters Lynn Mazer (Ray Mazer) and Cynthia Segal (Albert Segal); as well as nieces, nephews and her step son Andy Eaton (Barbara) and their family.
