Ingeborg (Inge) Virginia Batoff (née Baumgarten), born May 14, 1929, of Long Beach Island, NJ and Boca Raton, FL, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2019, in Spray Beach. A Holocaust survivor who fled Germany in 1939 for America, Inge traveled aboard a steamship full of immigrants, entering New York Harbor on her 10th birthday, seeing the Statue of Liberty for the first time. Inge cherished her days on Long Beach Island, devoting time to volunteering for the annual 18 mile run, speaking locally to students about her experiences during the Holocaust, playing bridge as a Life Master and meticulously tending to her home, family and friends in Beach Haven, then later in Spray Beach where her late beloved husband, Milton Arthur Batoff, M.D. passed away in November of 2013. She was the loving and devoted mother of Steven (Carol) Batoff, Susan (Jeff) Carson, Elanna (Roger) Schwab, Michael Baytoff, Diane (John Malik) Batoff, cherished grandmother (Oma) of Josh (Fran), Jenn (Jesse), Rachael, Dylan, Justin, Jeremy, Jesse (Mallory), Juliette (Brett), Gabrielle, Connor, Jacob, Sarah, Michael, Cassidy and Leo, and adored great grandmother (Oma) of Lucy, Henry, Leo and Max. A Life Celebration will be held at the Jewish Community Center, 25 E. 25th Street, Long Beach Township, NJ 08008. Date to be determined.
