In 2018, Israel turns 70 years old — a significant milestone in the life of this vibrant country. And to commemorate the occasion, we’re pulling out all the stops.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is thrilled to announce Israel70, a year packed with outrageously fun and seriously thought-provoking programming that will allow us to bond with the young Jewish homeland, grapple with its evolution and celebrate its very existence.
Israel70 will be a year of building bridges: between our communities and Israel, but also between our communities and one another. This will be a year of making space for listening, empathy and reflection. No matter how you express your support for Israel, no matter what the roots of your connection or your legitimate questions may be, Israel70 welcomes you. This is a moment for us to come together to honor and reflect, in so many ways, on the wonderfully diverse country that is Israel.

There, you’ll find information about our year of events ranging from art exhibits, films and storytelling to lectures, learning and conversations with Israeli change-makers. Some events will be festive, others informative, but all will help you explore, celebrate and share the nuances of your relationship with Israel.
At the Valley Forge Event Center on May 6, save the date — 5/6 — and join us to celebrate Israel70 all day long at 5-6-70 Israel, our biggest Israel party of the year. With delicious food, multiple performers, films, storytelling, games, sports, a craft bazaar and so much more, this will be a birthday packed with revelry for the whole family.
