Building Community, Building Our City: Jewish Federation Real Estate Launches Sub-group

0
On Tuesday, June 16, Jewish Federation Real Estate — the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s affinity group for real-estate professionals — launched a subgroup called “Women of JFRE” with an event at Fox Rothschild in Center City chaired by Marcy Hart, a partner at the firm, and Barbara Kahn of commercial real estate firm Kahn & Co. Nearly 60 women attended.
Hart says, “I am so happy to participate in the launch of Women of JFRE to expand JFRE’s membership, visibility and reach in the commercial real estate community.”
Allan Domb of Allan Domb Real Estate, Farah Jimenez of the Philadelphia School Reform Commission, Steve Mullin of Econsult and Eleanor Sharpe of the Philadelphia City Planning Commission participated in a panel discussion moderated by Anne Nevins of PIDC exploring whether Philadelphia’s apparent renaissance is a sustainable transformation or a blip in the marketplace.
JFRE Chair-elect Jeff Bartos and Jewish Federation CEO Naomi L. Adler, welcomed the group and highlighted JFRE-supported projects. JFRE has provided $128,500 in funding for 2015-16 for projects such as renovations to an Orr Shalom group foster home in Israel, upgrades to a community garden at Ramah Day Camp and equipment to support Cook for a Friend at KleinLife; JFRE’s local projects often involve hands-on work by JFRE members as well as funding.
JFRE chair Rob Zuritsky says: “This was an outstanding first event. The panel was first-rate and the room was packed. The only complaint we had was that the guests wished there was more time for the panelists to speak. It looks like Women of JFRE is off to a great start.”
