Afternoon Honors Women Who Are Making a Difference

On Oct. 6, nearly 200 Lions of Judah — women who donate $5,000 or more to the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s Annual Campaign — gathered to celebrate inspirational Jewish women at Women’s Philanthropy’s annual Lion of Judah Luncheon. The lunch was chaired by Rosalie Goldberg and Nancy Shein at the National Museum of American Jewish History. Keynote speaker Randi Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Zuckerberg Media, captivated the crowd with her talk, which touched on how she carries the Jewish lessons she learned in her youth into her business practices.

Phyllis Finkelstein gave a moving talk upon accepting the Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland Award for her deep dedication to the Jewish community over the past 30 years. National Women’s Philanthropy established the Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland Award to honor women who embody the spirit and vision of the Lion of Judah through a commitment to tzedakah and tikkun olam.
