The Jewish Relief Agency announced that it is offering home delivery of free kosher-for- Passover food essentials for eligible families in Greater Philadelphia ahead of the April holiday.

The organization seeks new recipient information by April 1 so volunteers can deliver the food packages from April 10-12 through its food distribution program.

The Passover box will include traditional foods like matzah, gefilte fish, matzo ball soup mix, grape juice and more.

Four times a year, JRA distributes holiday staples for the Jewish holidays of Purim, Passover, Rosh Hashanah and Chanukah. And each month, JRA delivers around 15 pounds of nutritious, kosher, pantry staples, fresh produce and other critical household goods to more than 3,600 area families.

“We all know someone struggling with food insecurity,” said JRA Executive Director Jodi Roth-Saks. “With inflation rising and the cost of gas increasing, people’s paychecks are getting squeezed from every angle. We don’t want the holiday to pass over anyone in need. Whether that person is a neighbor, someone from shul or a friend of a friend. We are asking the members of this Jewish community to really look around and help us get food out to people who need it most.”

Families must live in one of JRA’s 90 delivery zip codes and fill out an application for services. Requests and referrals can be submitted at jewishrelief.org or by calling 610-660-0190. Russian-language speakers are available. Individuals who may wish to remain anonymous can call our offices to sign-up.
