JCRC Holds Panel Discussion with Black Legislators
The Jewish Community Relations Council held a panel discussion on June 22 via Zoom with several black legislators to discuss the events that followed the deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, among others.

U.S. Rep. Dwight Evans, state Sen. Sharif Street, state Rep. Joanna McClinton and Philadelphia City Councilwoman Charelle Parker discussed pending legislation to address racial injustice and police brutality.

They also discussed how the Jewish community can partner with the Black community to address racism and inequality in the United States.

Local Lawyer named Co-Chair of LAANE Advisory Board
Stuart W. Davidson was named co-chair of the Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy Advisory Board.

LAANE is an “advocacy organization dedicated to building a new
economy for all [that combines] dynamic research, innovative public policy, and strategic organizing of broad alliances,” according to a news release.

Davidson is a partner in labor, employment and workers’ compensation law firm Willig, Williams & Davidson in Philadelphia.

JFS Announces Honorees
Jewish Family Service of Atlantic & Cape May Counties announced its 2020 President’s Award and Volunteer of the Year Award at its virtual annual meeting on June 10.

JF board member and Treasurer Melissa Rosenblum received the President’s Award “for her dedication and support of the agency and community.”

RSVP member Jack Greenberg was named Volunteer of the Year. For more than five years, he has stocked the food pantry, served guests at Holocaust survivor luncheons, handled agency mailings and assisted at the golf tournament and herb dinner.
