The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia awards grants each year to local Jewish organizations, supporting them in bringing Israeli culture to our communities in creative and engaging ways. The fund’s purpose is to provide grants for programs that strengthen Israel engagement via cultural programming.
Funds can be used to bring in Israeli performers and artists and/or to create Israel-themed programs that include music, film, arts, dance, literature, lectures, theater, etc., that are open to the community and demonstrate artistic, educational and/or cultural value for the community.
In 2019-2020, 23 microgrants were awarded to 25 organizations for a total of $56,000. See below for a list of grants made. Due to COVID-19, not all funded programs were able to occur, and organizations were allowed to roll their funding over to the 2020-2021 year. For the current funding cycle, the selection committee will prioritize funding for organizations that are not rolling over a 2019-2020 grant.
