On Feb. 11 at the Independence Visitor Center, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia unveiled the highly anticipated results of its new population survey. Known as “Community Portrait: A 2019 Jewish Population Study,” the survey revealed the first new comprehensive set of data in 10 years examining the socio-economic, demographic and public health shifts that have occurred in Greater Philadelphia’s Jewish communities.
Conducted by the research firm Westat and overseen by a lay leadership and technical advisory committee led by Sara and Adam Laver, “Community Portrait” was the first to use address-based sampling to study a Jewish community in the United States.
More information on “Community Portrait,” including a list of upcoming town halls and community meetings, can be found at jewishphilly.org/populationstudy.
