On Oct. 10, Jewish Federation’s Women’s Philanthropy held its annual Lion of Judah event. In response to requests for an event that could accommodate working women, this year the event was a dinner rather than a lunch.
Almost 200 guests attended to hear from sports, lifestyle and fitness broadcaster Jenna Wolfe, who spoke about her experience growing up Jewish in both Jamaica and Haiti. Co-chairs Danielle Weiss and Ellen Golder Saft presented the Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland award to Lyn Neff for her many years of generous philanthropy and the creation of Philadelphia’s own Mitzvah Food Pantry.
Jewish Federation is proud to welcome several new Lions of Judah as a result of this event, which raised more than $500,000 for our Jewish community.
