Conan O’Brien Accomplished Goal in Israel: to ‘Make Friends Wherever I Went’

Conan O’Brien took his TBS show to Israel, which premiered last night, including many laughs and a few more somber moments.

The comedian threw himself his own impromptu Bar Mitzvah, crashed Gal Gadot’s Tel Aviv apartment and schmoozed with locals about life in Israel.

O’Brien also spoke with Palestinian activists at the border wall in the West Bank, visited refugees in Aida Refugee Camp and toured a hospital in the Golan Heights that provides care to those injured in Syria’s civil war.

“Let’s face it. It’s impossible to do justice in 40 minutes to the incredibly complex and polarizing country of Israel. But I did accomplish my goal, which was to make friends wherever I went,” O’Brien said. “I want to thank the people of Israel and the West Bank for their incredible hospitality, their humor and their coffee. Everywhere I went, I was offered coffee by complete strangers.”
