Debbie and Ed Hoffman of Holland, Pa., announce the engagement of their daughter, Kate Emily Hoffman, to David Andrew Slavit, son of Sandy and Howard Slavit of Potomac, Md., and Palm Beach, Fla.
Kate is a graduate of American University in Washington, D.C., where she earned a bachelor’s degree in public communications. She manages internal communications and talent branding for WeddingWire in Chevy Chase, Md.
David is a graduate of Union College with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He holds a master of science in real estate from Johns Hopkins University. David works in hotel asset management for Host Hotels & Resorts in Bethesda, Md.
Kate is the granddaughter of the late Faye and David Kay, the late Irving Radetsky, the late Jacqueline and Burton Hoffman and the great-niece of the late Samuel Reid. David is the grandson of Frances Pensler of Chevy Chase, and the late Leslie Pensler and the late Ann and William Slavit.
Sharing in the couple’s happiness are Florence Reid, Joshua Hoffman, Jeramy Zimmerman, Sidney Hoffman, Linda Radetsky, and Wendy Slavit.
The couple lives in Bethesda and plans a November 2017 wedding in Washington, D.C.
