Newsmakers, the Week of June 29, 2017

Olivia Brody-Bizar and Darryl J. Ford

Olivia Brody-Bizar, a member of Beth David Reform Congregation in Gladwyne and the William Penn Charter School, is the 2017 recipient of the school’s Phi Beta Kappa award for outstanding scholarship. The Wynnewood native will be attending Dartmouth College. Earlier in the year, she was one of three students receiving the school’s Service Learning Award. She also won the Kenneth A. Gerber Award for Outstanding Intellectual Achievement, as well as the History Prize.



Brett Furman

Brett Furman, a broker/owner of RE/MAX Classic, was named by RE/MAX International as the region’s top-ranked agent. It’s the second time he’s been honored. A member of Congregation Or Shalom in Berwyn and a graduate of Hebrew High School at Har Zion Temple, he’s been a supporter of the American Cancer Society, ALS Hope and the Children’s Miracle Network.
