Ambulance Donated to Israel by Lansdale Woman to Honor Her Late Husband
In honor of her late husband Alfred, Charlotte Stein on June 18 donated an ambulance to Magen David Adom, the ambulance, blood services and disaster relief organization that serves as emergency medical first responders in Israel.
Charlotte Stein, who lives in Lansdale and Boca Raton, Fla., said her husband loved Israel and visited many times.
Son Irv Stein said his parents had given to Magen David Adom before, and his mother wanted to memorialize her husband.
“They had seen in the publications they received from Magen David Adom about other people donating ambulances and other things to the society,” he said. “My mother contacted them and was given the price to have an ambulance built to their specifications and shipped to Israel.”
Magen David Adom took care of the building and shipping, Irv Stein said.
Alfred Stein died at the age of 90 on Aug. 25, 2015. He served as a Marine in World War II in the South Pacific.
The Stein family operates — Keystone Motors Volvo in Doylestown and Berwyn.
