Area Woman Has Israel Bat Mitzvah

Carole Landis becomes a Bat Mitzvah in Jerusalem.

Haverford native Carole Landis became a Bat Mitzvah at the Robinson’s Arch site of the Kotel in Jerusalem on April 27. Rabbi David Ebstein of Jerusalem officiated at the ceremony, which Landis prepared for with Rabbi Peter Rigler of Temple Sholom in Broomall. The Pella Singers, a Jerusalem-based a cappella group, and musicians led a celebratory procession that began at the Dung Gate.
