Tikkun Olam Society Luncheon Honors Community Members’ Foresight, Generosity

Tikkun Olam Society members listen to guest speaker and Tikkun Olam Society member Dick Atkins talk about his work as an attorney assisting companies and individuals on legal issues in foreign countries.

On April 6, 40 community members braved a torrential downpour to join the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia for its second-annual Tikkun Olam Society Luncheon. The Tikkun Olam Society recognizes caring people who include a gift of any size for the Jewish Federation in their estate plans. The lunch was a celebration of the generous men and women who are planning now to support Jewish communities through the Jewish Federation in the future. The event featured virtual tours of some of the programs and places supported by the Jewish Federation, including the Digital Choice Food Program, PJ Library and Israel, to reinforce for Tikkun Olam Society members the importance of their gifts. Guest speaker Richard “Dick” Atkins spoke about his 40 years of legal work helping Jewish Americans get released from foreign jails.
