Israeli Consulate Official Addresses AJC’s Latino-Jewish Coalition

Consul of Media Affairs Shimon Mercer Woods of the Israeli Consulate in New York, a native of Venezuela, spoke about Latin American and Israeli relations at the American Jewish Committee’s quarterly meeting of the Latino-Jewish Coalition. He told how his family was among many Jewish families to find refuge in Latin America after the Holocaust.

Other speakers among the 30 in attendance talked about maintaining the connection between such countries as Brazil, Uruguay and Colombia, which have developed strong economic ties with Israel.
