More than 300 Jewish Penn State students attended a special “Mega Shabbat” on Feb. 3 to honor the late Yossi Gourarie, father of Rabbi Hershy Gourarie, Penn State Chabad of the Undergrads co-director.
The Chabad also donated $2 for every student in attendance to THON, Penn State’s 46-hour dance marathon that raises money to fight pediatric cancer.
Guests included Penn State President Eric Barron and his wife, Molly; Rabbi Hershy and his wife, Miri Gourarie; and Rabbi Nosson and Sarah Meretsky, co- directors of Chabad at Penn State.
