Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro appointed Jonathan Scott Goldman, a partner at Blank Rome LLP in Philadelphia, as one of his executive deputy attorneys general in charge of the Civil Division of the commonwealth. A specialist in commercial litigation and complex commercial disputes, Goldman will head a unit of 104 civil division attorneys responsible for collecting delinquent taxes and other debts and reviewing the legality of all state contracts and regulations.
Goldman chairs the Government Affairs Committee of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia and is a member of the Elkins Park congregations Beth Sholom and Adath Jeshurun. He also serves as an assistant secretary of The Abraham J. Cohen Family Charitable Foundation.
Abelardo Lechter was named to the new national Latino Jewish Leadership Council (LJLC) convened by the American Jewish Committee. Chairman of the Pan American Association of Philadelphia and a board member of Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Lechter will play a role in the LJLC’s work to strengthen Latino-Jewish cooperation in advocating for issues of shared concern.
