The General Assembly is a conference for volunteer and professional leadership from Jewish Federations across North America. This year it is taking place in Washington, D.C., from Nov. 13 to 15, 2016, and will feature both global resources and Philadelphia-focused programs. With just two weeks left until the conference, please register today to reserve your spot.


Local Experts to Present

Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia leaders David Gold and Michele Levin will be presenting during the breakout sessions.


Philadelphia Delegation Dinner

The Greater Philadelphia community will come together for dinner on Nov. 14, at 6:30 p.m. at El Tamarindo, which is close to the Washington Hilton where all the General Assembly activities will take place. If you will be at the General Assembly, please join.


LGBT Reception

Our Jewish Federation is co-sponsoring the LGBT reception occurring immediately following the final plenary on Nov. 14.


Key discussion topics throughout the three days will be:

• The diversity of Jewish expression in Israel

• Jewish Federation stories and accomplishments from around the world

• How to counter the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement’s attacks on Israel


Keynote speakers will include:

• Ambassador Ron Dermer

• Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks

• Natan Sharansky

• Chuck Todd of Meet the Press



For those who want to carpool to the conference, the Jewish Federation is offering free parking at a lot two blocks from the Washington Hilton; let Stefanie Tapper, Jewish Federation development officer, know, and she will get you a parking voucher before the General Assembly. Participants who take the train can receive a $36 reimbursement toward the cost; please share your train ticket or receipt with Tapper during the General Assembly and she will provide this reimbursement.
