When it Comes to Trump, Toomey Should Be Clear
I’m appalled at Sen. Pat Toomey’s wishy-washy attempt to distance himself from association with Donald Trump (“McGinty the Choice for Jews, the Middle Class and National Security,” Oct. 13).
His spineless statement at last week’s debate about needing “independence” in Washington does nothing to disavow himself from Trump’s apparent anti-Semitic statement: “Hillary Clinton meets in secret with international banks to plot the destruction of U.S. sovereignty in order to enrich those global financial powers, her special interest friends and her donors.” This rhetoric harks dangerously close to The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which has been used by anti-Semites since the early 20th century.
If Sen. Toomey really has disagreements with Mr. Trump, this is one area where he should be specific.

You Want Four More Years of This?
I’m just incredulous that so many Jews are biting at the bit to vote for Hillary Clinton (“Defense of Trump Indefensible,” Oct. 13). It proves that bias and fantasy trumps, forgive the pun, reality every time.
Let’s review the facts and the facts only. We are undergoing the worst recovery from any recession since the end of World War II. The reason is too-high taxes, Obamacare and the massive increase in nonsensical regulations. This is the first time, under any president, that GDP has never reached 3 percent, the present robust Obama/Clinton growth rate being a whopping 1.8 percent.
The Middle East is in chaos. The Iranians are using the $150 billion provided to them under President Obama’s nuclear deal to buy the missiles that their Houthi allies are presently shooting at our ships off the coast of Yemen. The Iranians are still calling for the death to America, are still determined to wipe Israel off the map and are still spreading their influence throughout the region. Russian President Vladimir Putin has invaded Crimea and Ukraine, and Obama remains in a state of confusion. China, aware of the weak and feckless American president, continues apace in militarizing the South China Sea.
This is the Obama/Clinton record. Added to this is the fact that Clinton, as secretary of state, illegally set up her own server in the basement of her home, exposing some of our top secrets to our enemies. In order to hide her actions, the Democratic nominee for president lied again and again. Corruption hangs all over Clinton like fleas on a dog.
I dislike some of the statements made by Donald Trump, finding them crude and irresponsible. But these statements pale in comparison to the corrupt and incompetent actions of Hillary Clinton. Four more years of this nonsense can only result in a weakened America and a weakened Israel.
