KleinLife was awarded a $40,000 grant from the W. W. Smith Foundation President and CEO Andre Krug announced.
Krug said the grant will be used to expand KleinLife’s Home Delivered Meals Program which provides 90,000 meals annually to seniors in Philadelphia, Bucks and Montgomery Counties who cannot shop and cook for themselves. The program includes Cook For A Friend, which relies on volunteer groups and organizations who cook meals which are then packaged and frozen for delivery by a group of volunteer drivers.
The W.W. Smith Charitable Trust is a private foundation established by William Wikoff Smith. It focuses on areas involving basic needs for food, clothing and shelter; supplementing higher education scholarship programs; supporting maritime education/maritime heritage preservation; and basic medical research primarily in heart disease, cancer and AIDS.
