Jenkintown native and Kutztown University sophomore Tova Goldstein received a Community Prize for her project at the Allentown Hope and Healing Art Show. Inspired by Heather Rodale, a Sloan-Kettering cancer patient who designed an art program contest aimed at helping make other cancer patients relax during treatment, Goldstein’s picture was selected among the winners. Her work, along with that of 12 others, is part of a DVD that will be played on a loop for cancer patients in the waiting room at Allentown’s St. Luke’s Hospital.
Ellen Goldberg Weiner of Hofstein Weiner & Meyer, P.C. spoke on “A Practical Approach to Custody Actions” at Gloria’s Place in Philadelphia. Goldberg Weiner, immediate past president of Temple Sinai of Cinnaminson as well as a member of its executive committee and school board, serves clients handling all aspects of family law.
Veteran local attorneys Alan S. Nadel, Clark A. Jablon and Ronald L. Panitch of Panitch, Schwarze, Belisario & Nadel were named among the top practitioners of intellectual property law by Chambers USA. Their technical knowledge and attention to detail were singled out by the ranking service.
Nadel, former president of the board of directors and trustees at Congregation Adath Jeshurun in Elkins Park and recipient of awards from both the Jewish Theological Seminary of America and the Jewish Committee on Scouting, was recognized for his expertise in patent prosecution. Panitch, former national vice-chair of the UJA-Federation, was singled out for his strategy developing patent portfolios. Jablon, a member of Temple Sinai in Dresher since 2003, was noted for his focus on software patents.
