On May 20, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s Women of Vision Foundation held its annual spring luncheon for 185 guests at the Merion Tribute House in Merion Station. The theme of the event was Sole to Soul: Walk in the Shoes of Jewish Philanthropists. The afternoon honored Sally Cooper Bleznak, founder and chair emerita of Women of Vision, who conceptualized the foundation to bring women closer to the world of philanthropy. Special guest Jane Gershon Weitzman, founding vice president of Stewart Weitzman Retail, stressed that Jewish people need to give more to Jewish causes. Penni Blaskey, Women of Vision chair, rolled out the group’s new multi-year campaign, Expand Our Vision — Advance Their Future, which will significantly grow Women of Vision’s endowment to increase annual grants to fund additional social-change organizations and impact more lives each year. Gladys Bernstein and Annabelle Fishman were the luncheon’s honorary co-chairs; Tracy Ginsburg and Kelly Dalsemer served as program chairs.
Since 1994, Women of Vision has distributed more than $625,000 to 35 programs to help women and girls in Greater Philadelphia and Israel access opportunities for social, economic and personal growth to achieve their full potential.
