A standing-room-only crowd, with the capacity to repair the world, attended the third gathering of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s new Joshua Society on April 14. The evening was hosted by Debra and David Magerman at their home.
Radio and TV host, columnist and best-selling author Michael Smerconish was the special guest for the evening. The discussion was lively and interactive, as well as timely, considering the current presidential race. “Joshua Society gatherings provide networking and socializing, but they are also intellectually stimulating,” said Neil Model, who along with his wife, Karen, as well as Paula and Bill Glazer, chairs the Joshua Society. “Karen and I hope to build on this success and explore creative programming with Joshua Society friends in New York, Baltimore and even Montreal.”
The Joshua Society was created by the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) to establish a network of like-minded philanthropists whose household giving to their Jewish Federation’s Jewish Community Fund is at or above $10,000 a year. “The Joshua Society creates meaningful opportunities to connect with the Jewish Federation while feeling a part of a larger, national community of like-minded philanthropists,” Paula Glazer said. “Bill and I are delighted to serve as co-chairs with Karen and Neil.”
