Michael Solomonov is a finalist for two awards from the James Beard Foundation.
For Michael Solomonov, the food speaks for itself — and so does his cookbook.
Solomonov, local chef and Zahav restaurant owner, is an Outstanding Chef finalist for the James Beard Foundation for his 2015 cookbook, Zahav: A World of Israeli Cooking, which he co-wrote with Steven Cook.
The James Beard Foundation, which is a nonprofit that honors the country’s diverse culinary heritage through educational programs, announced the finalists for its 2016 awards today.
The cookbook was also nominated for an International cookbook award.
The awards will take place on May 2 in Chicago.
Solomonov’s last award from the James Beard Foundation was for Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic in 2011.
