Blue Bell native Jessica Edelson has been elected B’Nai B’rith Youth Organization’s International Mazkirah, International Secretary for BBYO’s young female division for 2016-2017.  She’ll work in tandem with the BBYO young male division secretaries on the I-Board as one of 10 teen leaders in local communities. They’ll focus on developing and sharing communication and fundraising strategies throughout the system, along with coordinating BBYO’s annual summer International Leadership Training Conference.
Rhena Kelsen and the Honorable Isadore Kranzel, co-presidents of the Philadelphia Jewish Archives Center the past three years, were honored upon completion of their terms. Prior to their co-presidency, both had been heavily active in preserving Philadelphia Jewish history for several years and will remain honorary members. Judge Kranzel, a member of Germantown Jewish Centre who is retired, has been working on the Jewish history of Judge Abraham Freedman, who wrote the Philadelphia City charter. Kelsen, the daughter of the late Temple Sholom Rabbi Pinchos Chazin, is past president of the National Council of Jewish Women, Philadelphia section, past president of Temple University Hospital’s auxiliary and a member of Beth Sholom.
