The Delaware County neighborhood is continuing a musical tradition with a series of concerts at four synagogues to strengthen the local Jewish community.

For thousands of years, music has sustained and united the Jewish people and Jewish communities throughout the world. The Delaware County neighborhood is continuing this tradition with a series of concerts at four synagogues to strengthen the local Jewish community. Everyone is welcome to celebrate their Jewish heritage and spend time with other community members at one — or all — of these concerts featuring outstanding Jewish music and musicians.

FROM BEERSHEBA TO BROADWAY: A CELEBRATION OF JEWISH SPIRIT IN AMERICAN AND WORLD MUSIC

 

Award-winning performers Ken Ulansey and Phyllis Chapell will bring their mix of world music with a Jewish spirit in a cabaret-style setting. Ulansey and Chapell have collaborated musically for over 20 years, in genres ranging from jazz and folk to contemporary and classical music, with influences from Broadway, Brazil, Ireland, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and India. Light snacks and drinks will be available.

YOM HA’ATZMA’UT CELEBRATION FEATURING SIX13

 

Anchored by their strong Jewish identity, Six13 is a six-man vocal band that brings an unprecedented style of Jewish music to the stage with songs from hip-hop dance music to rock anthems. This Israel Independence Day celebration will feature a workshop for children and teens, as well as dinner with Six13 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Immediately after dinner, Six13 will begin their concert. A dessert buffet at 8:15 p.m. will provide a sweet ending to the evening.
