Celebrate young leadership on Saturday, Jan. 9, at one of Philly’s biggest Jewish parties of the year, the annual Young Leadership Celebration, hosted by the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s Renaissance Group. Live entertainment, an open bar and great food are just a few of the exciting things in store for what will be a fabulous evening at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown.
The Renaissance Group of the Jewish Federation engages young professionals to care for those in need, enrich Jewish life and learning and support the Jewish people in Israel and around the world through volunteerism and fundraising. In addition to the Young Leadership Celebration, the group offers numerous events, engaging programs and travel opportunities throughout the year. “The depth and breadth of the Renaissance Group is so large, it is nice to take a step back and celebrate the phenomenal leadership that young professionals in Philadelphia have displayed over the last year,” says Marc Prine, Renaissance Group Campaign Chair.
The Young Leadership Celebration, chaired by Becca Fischer and Shaw Levin, “is the young Jewish event of the year and is a celebration of all that we as a community have achieved together so far and what we can achieve in the future,” says Fischer. “It provides a fun, accessible way for young people in our community to give back.”
“The people supporting the Jewish Federation focus on priorities that are special to them,” says Levin. “YLC is great because it brings everyone with different Jewish passions together in one place to celebrate the successes for our community over the past year.”
“Our Young Leadership Celebration is an opportunity to demonstrate to ourselves and the Greater Philadelphia Jewish community that Jewish young professionals truly care about taking care of our local and global community,” says Danielle Weiss, Chair of the Renaissance Group. “We proudly take on that responsibility. It’s a night of great fun for a wonderful purpose. Each year is better than the one before.”
The celebration will take place from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. It is open to members of the Renaissance Group’s Celebration Giving Society who make a minimum donation of $180 to the Jewish Federation. Discounted tickets are available for $60 per person. After Dec. 10, the price will increase to $75. Discounted parking and hotel rooms will be available for those attending the event.
“Whether you are new to Philadelphia, a native to our suburbs or just looking to have a good time with your friends, come out to YLC and give the Renaissance Group a try,” says Prine. “I promise, you will be impressed by the group of individuals who have gathered together for a common cause.”
“Last year we raised $107,000 that night to address critical needs of the Jewish community here and around the world. We look forward to exceeding that figure this year,” says Weiss.
The event is being made possible thanks to the support of Blank Rome LLP; Platinum Partners Howard and Phyllis Fischer; Silver Partners Flywheel, the Jewish Exponent and Masa and Bronze Partners Hillel’s Grad Network, Hillel at Temple University and Williams Family Law.
